Mikel Erentxun returns with a new tour to present his latest studio album, Septiembre; 12th of his solo albums and 28th counting those of Duncan Dhu. The composer and performer’s approach in this record is very personal, as all the songs were composed for the first time on the piano. Eighteen songs that make room for all kinds of feelings and of which 'A la luz de las farolas' and 'Tren a Marte' are an excellent introduction. Despite the fact that September is his favourite month since he was a child, -it suggests melancholy and romanticism-, the reason for the existence of this album is quite different: “Elton John was a guy I disliked very much and who had never attracted me musically. I felt a certain rejection towards his work. During the pandemic I discovered his albums from the seventies and I completely fell in love with them. I bought a piano and that's where the origins of this album came from. Elton John is to blame for the existence of September”.
A tireless artist, always creating and always on the road, with more than 40 years in the world of music -first as the vocalist of Duncan Dhu- Mikel Erentxun's career is backed by hundreds of national and international awards, major hits and legions of fans on both sides of the Atlantic. 28 albums later, he says that “the flame is still alive”.
